In March 2009 Tom Dilts at UNR and Angie Evenden produced a local foodshed map showing the location of 20 local farms that supply GBCFC.
This map shows the location of farms within the local reno foodshed that supply the Great Basin Community Food Co-op. Our foodshed encompasses three major drainages east of the Sierra crest: Truckee River, Carson River and Walker River.
When foods are not available within our local foodshed, we may draw from a broader food shed area extending west of the Sierra, trying to stay in a 200 mile radius from Reno.
