Our annual parking lot spring seedling sale. This is a benefit for the GBCFC and farmers seem to do well too!
When: Saturday, May 21, 2011 9 a.m. to noon. Set up is at 8 a.m.
Cost: Free for farmers and plant related items such as compost. Vendors fee is $35 dollars before April 15 and $50 after April 15, 2011.
Requirements:
- All pots/baskets/compost MUST be clearly labeled with a farm/organization name
- To streamline and ease the accounting and check outs at the seedling sale: You must use 4″, 1 gallon, or 5 gallon sized pots. We know there are a couple items that fall outside of this category, if you want to be able to sell your miscellaneous items and have us include them on our check out receipts/invoices which we will use to ring people up at the seedling sale, YOU MUST INCLUDE the items on your application.
- If you are providing any seedlings that may have a high chance of gmo contamination (such as corn, soy, or wheat), please disclose your seed source and be sure to use only certified organic seeds for the high risk gmo crops.
- If you wish to sell seedlings and we do not have a copy of your NV Producer’s Certificate, please contact Peggy at the Nevada Department of Agriculture to acquire one.
- We do not require you to be certified organic. However we reserve the right to prohibit plants that have been sprayed with synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides etc.
