We’re nearing summer! And with that, we are closer to moving in to your food co-operative’s new store location! Here are some quick updates to keep you in the loop of activity and events that are coming up (and that we hope to see you at!)
Spring Seedling Sale
Our annual parking lot spring seedling sale this year is on Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Basil, Tomatoes, Kale varieties, herbs, melons, lettuce, flowers and more!! All local from the same farmers who bring you the best food Reno has to offer. We will also have a variety of misc vendors this year: Gino the Soup Man, Hannah from Hulsman Beef and Lamb Ranch, Eagle Peak Herbals tinctures and salves, Hempfields, Absolutely Michelle’s cookies, a variety of organic baked bread and biscotti, a yard sale/swap/trade booth, and plenty more!!

Co-op/Holland Teen Gardening Workshop
Welcome in the warm weather with this easy and informative how-to gardening workshop. Come on down and get dirty! Literally! This is our 2nd Annual joint (Co-op & Holland Project) workshop where any teen can come and participate. Farmer Todd Rissone will be conducting the workshop which will include sections on soil amendment, compost building, container gardening and edible landscape.

GBCFC Hearts Bikes
Reno Bike Project (RBP) has a bunch of fun events coming up this month including their 3rd annual Bike Day celebration at West Street Market, May 21 from 10am – 3pm. Bike Day is a celebration of bicycles and a bike swap, with Reno Bike Project offering consignments to the public and a percentage going to benefit RBP. RBP is also rolling out their new membership program at Bike Day, be sure to sign up and become a part of Reno Bike Project.
