Member-owners have a chance to elect several new board members each year. The next annual election takes place in September, at which time several of the seven board seats will be up for election. Voting takes place over a two-week period and votes can be cast electronically, in the store, or at the annual membership meeting.
The Board of Directors nominates candidates for election each year. New members are always welcome to apply as we look forward to the varying expertise that our owners can bring to the board. We strive to choose nominees who best meet the current needs of the co-op and to give member-owners a choice of excellent candidates in each annual election. Recruitment of board members is ongoing and we are always looking for committed member-owners to apply for nomination. Member-owners who applied to be candidates but were not selected as nominees by the board may run for election independently by filing a Petition to Run for Election as a Member-Nominated Candidate. All candidates must be current member-owners of the co-op, and they must have applied for nomination prior to the election in which they wish to run.
